This healthy yoga class is about how yoga can help to lift your depression and help with anxiety relief.

Depression is something that affects many of us. I personally have suffered with depression throughout my life.

In face, 16.2 million Americans suffer from a depressive episode at least once a year. That is approximately 20% of the population.

This yoga practice is active and vigorous. When we feel depressed it’s hard to get moving.

We tend to round our shoulder forward and slump our back. This body alignment creates even more depression.

So, this yoga class will involve lots of heart opening back bends. We also focus on our facial expression.

When we frown we use 44 facial muscles. When we smile we use only 17 facial muscles.

A smile requires less effort than a frown. It has been scientifically proven that even a fake smile will lift our mood. So when you feel anxiety, stress or depressed, find relief with a smile.

It is guaranteed to help you feel better. Keep your body moving to help lift your depression, for stress relief and less anxiety.

Do some yoga. Go for a walk in nature. Getting started is the hardest part.

It’s is worth it. Move and feel better. This releases feel good hormones from your brain throughout your body. Yoga is provides relief from anxiety, depression and stress.

Be aware of what you eat and drink. Sometimes people use alcohol, food, sex or drugs as a remedy for depression.

While these methods help temporarily, in the long run the depression is still there when you come back down.

I fully appreciate a healthy sexual encounter, it is much more fulfilling when you approach it in happiness rather than for release from depression.

Make the connection to lifting your mood naturally or seek the help of a medical professional such as a psychologist and find more sustained joy in your life. Yoga is a part of a natural healing process.
