Yoga Breathe Class Overview

Breath Inspired Yoga Class . . .  Just Breathe

Pause, take a moment to observe your breathe.

Pause, take a moment to observe your breath. This simple yet important activity takes place from the moment you are born until you take your last breath at the end of your life.

We take between 17,280 and 23,040 breaths a day. Yoga practices help us breathe more slowly and deeply.

The ancient teachers of yoga counted their life in breaths rather than clock time. They believed that if they breathed more slowly they would live longer.

This is still true today, for if you slow down your breath you implement the parasympathetic nervous system. The sympathetic nervous system is the “Fight or Flight” response and the parasympathetic system is the “Rest and Digest” response.

Thus, the parasympathetic system reduces stress while the sympathetic system is the stress response.

When the stress response is activated, from real or perceived stress all regular functioning of the body resorts to survival mode, digestion ceases, the heart rate increases, the breath becomes short, shallow and rapid.

Our lives today are full of real and perceived stress. Sometimes on a continual basis. Think of driving a car in heavy traffic or bad weather, speaking in public or dealing with a challenge in your primary relationship.

We as people no longer need to run from a hungry tiger (I hope you don’t). But, you may be a passenger in a car with an angry or distracted driver. Scary and the sympathetic response is real!

What is Yoga Breath?

Yoga breathing is the antidote to this stress. The following yoga power flow class is inspired by the flow of your breath. Another word for flowing yoga is vinyasa.

The Latin root of the word Inspiration is the same as the word for Inhalation. I hope this power flow yoga class inspires you with each breath you take.

Yoga Breath Flow

We begin our power yoga flow class in child’s yoga pose. Take a few deep slow breaths here and notice how you feel. Come back and rest in this yoga pose when ever you need to take a break.

We will move into table top and flow in a cow cat stretch for a minute or so. Next we move into downward facing dog yoga pose to balance our strength and flexibility.

This power yoga flow class is good for a beginner, intermediate or advanced level of yoga student.

From down dog yoga poser move with intention to forward fold yoga pose. Roll up and set your intention to stay connected to your breath and flow. Tuck your butt under in the standing yoga pose to care for your back.

The next part of the yoga practice is sun salutations where we flow with the breath through more challenging yoga poses. This series of postures strengthens and stretches your entire body.

This part of the class is a full body cardio workout. 45 seconds for each part.

Feel the power of your core. Focus on your abs. Power yoga poses for your core can be done every day to energize your body. Move through various levels of boat pose. I offer five distinct layers.

I learned power yoga flow from Baron Baptiste in his book journey into power. Power yoga dimension evolved from Ashtanga yoga and was influenced by Bikram hot yoga classes.

Power yoga class is usually one hour long. You can do the class a second time for 60min . Practice this vinyasa class for 30 min twice or do a part of the class for 20-minutes total.

Power yoga flow is a moving meditation home retreat that will help you reconnect and recharge during the quarantine.

You will be tight and toned in no time if you make the commitment to practice power yoga flow daily. Always listen to your inner guide.

This just might be the ultimate power yoga flow practice on tv.

Feel empowered and find energy everyday. Yoga power flow class is a powerful program that helps you stay focused, free and grove.
